Euro 2016 New Format

For the first time ever, in 2016 the European Championships will be contested by 24 teams rather than the usual 16 and that means two new groups will be required at the finals. Two teams will qualify automatically from each group and the four best third placed teams will also progress to the knockout rounds meaning three of the four teams in Euro 2016 Group E could qualify.
