Holland have perhaps been the most consistent team in recent European Championships, in the last four tournaments they have always either reached the quarter final or the semi final. They proved at the most recent World Cup that they are one of the best teams in the world and with their extremely talented midfield they can once again perform with plenty of credit and go very close to winning it.
Holland are certainly one of the best teams in Europe and are a force to be reckoned with but they perhaps don't have the strength in depth of some of the other major nations so they will need to keep a fully fit side if they are to be at their best at Euro 2012.
Here are the best bets on Holland at Euro 2012 in the most popular betting markets:
Holland have been drawn in the so called Group of Death and despite being the third favourites to win Euro 2012, they aren't even the favourites to win Group B as they have been drawn with Germany. Germany look extremely strong heading into Euro 2012 after winning all ten qualifying games and Holland don't look quite in the same class as Germany but they should certainly be better than Portugal and Denmark as Portugal finished behind Denmark in their group but made it through the playoffs, showing they are not as strong as many think.
The bookies probably have it right that Holland are the third best team in the tournament and the only teams capable of beating Holland may be the two favourites Spain and Germany. Should Holland finish runners up in their group they will be scheduled to play Spain in the semi finals and that game is likely to go the way of the World Cup final, ending in victory for Spain.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar has really seized the initiative in the past couple of seasons and stepped up to the plate of being Holland's main goalscorer in the absence of Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Huntelaar was Holland's top scorer in qualifying for some distance with twelve goals and that record made him the top scorer in all of qualifying for any team. Crucially Huntelaar also scored in more games than any other Dutch player and he really does look the most likely top scorer for Holland. The presence of Robin Van Persie in this market makes Huntelaar a value price but Van Persie only scored in three matches compared to Huntelaar's seven so Huntelaar looks the better bet.
Statistically the runners up in a European Championships group is likely to get four or six points but there have been few groups as tough as this one in recent European Championships history. According to recent European Championships history a runner up has to get either four, five or six points and the advantage of betting on the points return is that the teams don't necessarily have to get the results against the teams you predict. Holland are tough to beat, they only lost once in qualifying, but their games can be very close, five of their six World Cup victories two years ago came by a one goal margin so it's easy to see them drawing a couple of games in a tight group making one win and two draws a good bet for their Group B return.

Holland almost won every match in qualifying, they only needed to beat Sweden in their final match to be the third team in this year's competition to maintain a 100% record but Sweden eventually beat them in a great game to leave Holland with nine victories and one loss. Holland scored plenty of goals in qualifying and their man man in front of goal was Klaas-Jan Huntelaar with eight goals, no player scored more goals in qualifying.
This is the predicted 23 man Holland Euro 2012 squad, when the final squad is announced the squad will be updated:

*All stats reflect bookies rules for own goals and 90 mins play in their respective markets. Five other Holland players scored a single goal in qualification and there was also one own goal.
Holland had quite a favourable group and scored eleven goals in one match against San Marino which can make their goalscorer stats a little deceiving, for example Robin Van Persie scored four times against San Marino so actually only scored in two out of his other five matches. On the other hand Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored in seven of his eight games and amassed a total of twelve goals which made him the top scorer in the Euro 2012 qualifying from all teams. On this evidence he is going to be a good bet to score anytime and he also had by far the best strike rate as far as first goalscorers and last goalscorers were concerned.
Wesley Sneijder was Holland's top scorer at the World Cup, in fact he was the joint top scorer in the competition, and his three goals from eight games shows that he still has a a great eye for goal and should be considered in goalscorer bets.

| Player | Games (Sub) | Yellow Cards | First Yellow Card Of Game | Red Cards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hedwiges Maduro | 1 (1) | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Robin Van Persie | 6 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| Kevin Strootman | 4 (1) | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| Rafael Van Der Vaart | 7 (1) | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Holland had a pretty decent disciplinary record during qualifying with just four bookings, going to four different players. It may only be coincidence but three out of their four bookings were the first bookings during the match so it may pay to book Dutch players to pick up the first yellow card in games at Euro 2012. Hewiges Maduro had the worst yellow card record per game played but he won't play much at Euro 2012, if at all. Robin Van Persie and Rafael Van Der Vaart are both well known to referees and are likely to pick up a booking or two at Euro 2012.

Holland look a very high scoring team based on their qualifying stats but it is worth remembering that they scored twenty five goals in their four matches against San Marino and Hungary which means they scored twelve goals in their remaining six matches, still a good ratio but not as amazing as it may have looked at first glance.
They also conceded eight goals and the majority of their games had not only over 2.5 goals but also over 3.5 goals so that could prove a good bet, especially against weaker teams, in their Euro 2012 matches. Holland scored more second half goals but there wasn't a great amount in it either way.
Probably the most standout stat from Holland's qualification was the fact that they were winning nine of their ten games at half time and they went on to win all of those games, in the other match they were drawing at half time and went on to lose the match. This would suggest that Holland are worth backing in the half time/full time betting to win at half time and full time in games where they should win and if they are winning a game at half time they are probably a decent in running bet to go on and win the game as long as the odds aren't too low.
| Year | Team Performance |

| 2008 | Eliminated In Quarter Finals |
| 2004 | Eliminated In Semi Finals |
| 2000 | Eliminated In Semi Finals |
| 1996 | Eliminated In Quarter Finals |
Holland have been one of the most consistent and reliable performers in recent European Championships, qualifying from the group on each of the last four occasions. In that time they have failed to reach any of the finals which leaves them with two semi final eliminations and two quarter final eliminations from the last four attempts.
