Name The Finalists

This initially looks an impossible market to call as picking the winner is often hard enough but it is actually easier than it looks and a market that will always reward punters with a big priced return should they find they winning outcome.

Euro 2012 Draw

The draw at Euro 12 is preset so you can plot the route to the final of each team. Most groups have a fairly clear favourite to win the group and you can take the two most likely teams to qualify as runners up to create the most likely quarter finalists.

Euro 2012 Quarter Finals

The draw for Euro 2012 has been made and the quarter finals should look something like the following. There are bound to be slight variations but we expect it to look something like this, with the most likely winners in bold:

Russia v Holland/Portugal

Germany v Greece/Czech Republic

Spain v England/France

England/France  v Italy

Group B has been billed as the group of death whilst Group A should be the weakest group so we'd expect the two qualifiers from Group B to make it through their respective quarter finals. Spain should win their group fairly comfortably but the winner of Group D looks difficult to call with England only slight favourites over France, the runner up of Group D is likely to be eliminated by Spain but the winner should just about defeat the runner up in Group C (very likely to be Italy) in what is probably the toughest quarter final match to call.

Euro 12 Semi Finals

If the quarter finals are as predicted then the semi final draw is likely to be:

Holland/Portugal v Spain

Germany v England/France

If the semi finals end up like this we would strongly expect the two favourites to win their respective semi finals. Spain overcame both Holland and Portugal at the last World Cup and even though they only beat both teams 1-0 (needed extra time to record that scoreline against Holland) they did dominate most of the game against both teams.

As for Germany, they absolutely demolished England at the World Cup and although England can't be that bad again, it is highly likely that Germany have improved even further since then. France are probably around the same level of ability as England (if anything slightly worse) so you'd also expect Germany to take care of France if it is France who are their semi final opponents.

Euro 2012 Final

The semi finals should actually be easier to call than the quarter finals presuming both Spain and Germany win their groups. Spain and Germany are the clear best footballing sides at Euro 2012 and it will probably take one to knock the other out of the competition. If both teams win their groups then that knockout will take place in the Euro 2012 final.

The final therefore is likely to be Spain v Germany.

At this stage your bet has already come in so you can relax and enjoy the final with the money already in the bank.

Recommended straight forecast bet:

Spain v Germany Final
