Euro 2012 co hosts Poland get Euro 2012 underway against Euro 2004 winners Greece.
This game kicks off Group A, probably the most open group at Euro 2012, and a win for either side may go a long way to deciding which teams qualify for the knockout rounds. Poland are the second favourites in Group A thanks to the perceived advantage that the hosts have but Greece were unbeaten in qualifying and will be no pushover.

BACK GREECE TO BEAT POLAND
This is undoubtedly going to be a very close game, Poland have home advantage but are not as strong a side as Greece who are 52 places ahead of Poland in the FIFA rankings at the time of writing. Greece have shown decent recent form to win their qualifying group whilst Poland are here because they are the co hosts and finished bottom of their group four years ago. Greece should be able to put their superior class to good use and are good value to win the opening match of Euro 2012.
Poland v Greece Asian Handicap Odds
Asian Handicap is available on all games and offers slight twist on match betting, one team is usually given a lead to level the playing field.

BACK GREECE +0.25
Greece look to be very underrated in this match and even with the +0.25 handicap they are still massively overpriced. Greece are a very solid side and didn't lose a single match in qualifying so look unlikely to lose against Poland who performed very poorly four years ago and have shown little signs that they are going to massively improve here. Greece +0.25 looks one of the best bets on this match at odds against at the time of writing.

BACK 1-0 GREECE AND UNDER 2.5 GOALS
Greece's success has always come from low scoring matches, that is how they won Euro 2004 and it was also the winning correct score in almost half of Greece's wins in qualifying for Euro 2012. The correct score options are fairly limited in Greece matches as in qualifying (against largely weaker teams) they only scored more than two goals once and in six games they either scored no goals or one goal. Seven of Greece's qualifiers had under 2.5 goals and nine had under 3.5 goals, there is often quite a big price difference between the two bets and since there wasn't a massive difference in the amunt of games had under 2.5 goals and under 3.5 goals it is under 2.5 goals that gets the vote.

Poland v Greece Team News
Team news will be added closer to kick off.
BACK KYRIAKOS POPADOPOULOS TO SCORE FIRST AGAINST POLAND
Greece don't really have an out and out goalscorer at the moment and they are likely to spread the goals around the team. This makes picking the goalscorers a bit more difficult but also potentially more rewarding if you can get it right. In Euro 2012 qualifying one of Greece's joint top scorers was defender Kyriakos Popadopoulos who scored two goals in just four matches. The defender should be good value to score first in this game and since we are only predicting one goal in this match the first goalscorer betting looks a much better bet than anytime goalscorer betting.
Poland v Greece Half Time Odds
The half time betting markets allow you to bet on what the result will be at half time, either on its own or together with the full time result. This can help to maximise profit from a game when you have studied the form carefully.

BACK DRAW/GREECE IN THE HALF TIME/FULL TIME BETTING
With a narrow win for Greece predicted in this match it should just be a case of deciding whether Greece take the lead in the first half or the second half of the match. Hopefully this should be fairly simple as during their qualifying campaign, Greece scored just three first half goals and eleven second half goals so they look unlikely to score in the first half of matches. Greece won seven matches in qualifying but were only winning twice at half time so the recommendation here is Draw/Greece.
Poland v Greece Best Bet
Whatever happens in this match it should be tight and low scoring and whilst a 1-0 win for Greece does look a very good bet it could be best to play it slightly safe in the opening match of the tournament and go for under 2.5 goals. Recent results point to that scoreline and with so much on the line in this match it could be even lower scoring than many predict.
