Chances Of Qualification For The European Championships

Scotland have some of the most passionate fans in the world so it is a shame that what was once a  footballing side full of stars has been reduced to a team that struggles to qualify for the major international tournaments. Scotland have twice qualified for the European Championships Finals, they reached the last eight in 1992 and then were eliminated at the group stages in 1996 when they had a memorable clash with England.

Despite Scotland's failure to qualify for the major tournaments in recent years they have still had some notable results in qualification, most notably when beating France in the qualification for Euro 2008. Scotland have some talented players and when 24 teams qualify for the Finals rather than 16 in 2016 onwards they will have a much better chance of returning to the European Championships but they still need to work on their consistently and ability to beat the smaller sides.
