BACK SPAIN TO BEAT ITALY

This looks as though it will be a tight match but there seems no reason why Spain won't win this match. Spain won Euro 2008, then the World Cup, then won every qualifying match on their way to Euro 2012. Italy were knocked out of Euro 2008 by Spain, then finished bottom of their group at the World Cup despite being favourites to win that group and then qualified for Euro 2012 without too many troubles but still dropped points against Serbia and Northern Ireland. Spain look by far the better side and by far the more reliable betting opposition.

Italy are not really a side to score or concede too many goals, in qualifying they couldn't even average two goals a game despite winning their group whilst they kept things extremely tight at the back with just two goals conceded. Spain have a habit of of winning very narrowly against better opposition at major tournaments, they won all their knockout games at the World Cup 1-0 (that score coming courtesy of extra time in the final).
